Brooksville, Florida (September 24, 2024) – All City of Brooksville government facilities will be closed on Wednesday, September 25, and Thursday, September 26, 2024, due to potential Tropical Cyclone Nine. This closure will include all City government offices, parks and the cemetery. All normal City operations will resume on Friday, September 27, 2024.
Residential garbage collection will cease operations during this closure and will adjust its collection schedule as follows:
- Wednesday, September 25th: The Sanitation Department will conduct commercial pickups only.
- Thursday, September 26th: The Sanitation Department will be closed. No sanitation services will be available
- Friday, September 27th: The Sanitation Department will resume normal operations and continue with the regularly scheduled residential and commercial pickups.
- Please note that Thursday’s residential route will not be made up on Friday.
The City Sandbag Site is and will remain open until further notice. The self-serve site is located at 600 S. Brooksville Ave., Brooksville, FL. Residents are reminded to take only what they need and to leave the shovels for the next resident to use.
The City of Brooksville encourages residents to act immediately to prepare yourself, friends, and family if you plan to stay and ride out a potential storm or, if need be, make the necessary arrangements to evacuate to a safer locale.
