CRA Grant Opportunities
The Brooksville CRA’s primary objective is to eliminate slum and blight conditions within the Community Redevelopment Areas and highlight the downtown the desired location for business, housing and recreational opportunities. The CRA is committed to ensuring the economic vitality of the CRA District through projects and programs that enhance its visual aesthetic appeal, increase the tax base, and promote business growth. Grants are a key part of the CRA’s strategy to redevelop and revitalize the CRA District.
The CRA offers funding assistance programs to property owners to support eligible redevelopment projects. Approved projects are eligible to receive a one-to-one dollar match with a total maximum grant of $25,000.00 awarded to any one property for up to two applications within a one-year period. Applications within the expanded CRA will be eligible for grants in the FY 25 budget cycle. For example, if a proposed project’s costs totaled $30,000.00, the applicant could be eligible for a $15,000 grant award should the project meet the required guidelines. If a proposed project’s costs totaled $55,000.00, the applicant could be eligible for a $25,000 grant award. All disbursements of grant funds are made following completion and final inspection of the improvement project.
Funding is budgeted annually, and is approved on a first-come, first-served basis. Approval by the Executive Committee may take several weeks so please plan accordingly. Most projects require a building permit. Please verify if your project requires a building permit and do not fail to obtain one because failure to obtain the permit may result in your grant reimbursement being denied.

Applications are accepted year-round, pending the availability of funding, and are subject to the approval of the Executive Review Committee.
